This policy explains how Purely Porcelain (Pty) Ltd collects, uses and protects your personal information when you visit www.purelyporcelain.co.za (the "Website") or buy from us, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18 without a parent or guardian's consent, and we do not collect special personal information such as health or religious information.
3. Who we share it with
We never sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the shop, and only what each one needs:
- The Courier Guy, to deliver your order (name, address, phone number).
- Yoco, to process your payment securely.
- Shopify, which hosts the Website and our order records.
- [Email service, if you send newsletters], to send emails you have agreed to receive.
- Our accountants and auditors, and authorities where the law requires it.
These providers must keep your information confidential and secure. Some, such as Shopify, store information on servers outside South Africa. Where that happens, we use providers that are subject to data protection laws or agreements giving protection similar to POPIA.
4. Cookies and marketing
Cookies: the Website uses cookies, small files stored on your device, to keep your cart working, remember your preferences and understand how the Website is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the Website, such as checkout, may not work without them.
Marketing: we will only send you newsletters or promotions if you have opted in, or if you are an existing customer and we are telling you about similar products. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to stop at shop@purelyporcelain.co.za. Order and delivery emails are not marketing and will still be sent.
5. Security and how long we keep it
The Website uses encrypted (SSL) connections, payments are handled by our payment provider, and only people who need your information to do their work can access it. If we become aware of a breach that affects your information, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.
We keep order and transaction records for at least 5 years, as tax and consumer laws require. We keep marketing details until you unsubscribe. After that, we delete or anonymise your information.
6. Your rights
Under POPIA you may:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you, and get a copy.
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong or out of date.
- Ask us to delete information we no longer need or have no right to keep.
- Object to us using your information for marketing at any time.
- Withdraw consent you have given us.
To do any of this, email our Information Officer at info@purelyporcelain.co.za. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we will respond within a reasonable time.
Complaints: if you are unhappy with how we handle your information, please contact us first. You may also complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at www.inforegulator.org.za.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always on the Website, with the date it was last updated. See also our Terms and Conditions.
